THE PERSON BEHIND THE ANNOTATIONS
Dr. Thijs Vande Vyvere is a certified Belgian anatomist and neuroscientist with over a decade of radiological research experience and more than 60 peer-reviewed publications on imaging of the injured and diseased brain. He founded MATHELIOS ANNOTATIONS to address the bottleneck of reliable high-quality annotated datasets, working closely with radiologists, surgeons, and AI engineers to deliver results that can be trusted.
WHAT'S IN A NAME?
MATHELIOS carries three people and a message of heartfelt tribute. MAT derives from Matthias, the Latin form of Thijs. HELIOS draws from the Greek god of the sun, whose light reveals structures that would otherwise remain in shadow. But HELIOS also unites Helena and José (Ioseph), Thijs's grandparents. The name is grounded in clarity, light, heritage, and the people without whom none of it would exist.
